Klubunk mostanra eljutott odáig, hogy csillapítsa szurkolóink egyre növekvő kíváncsiságát és elejét vegye az alaptalan pletykáknak, azaz íme a következő idény kerete!
Vezetőségünk meghozta a döntést arról, kik azok a játékosok, akikkel az Atomerőmű KSC Szekszárd nekivág a 2022–2023-as szezonnak. Mint arról már korábban beszámoltunk, az előző idényt Magyar Kupa bronzéremmel, valamint bajnoki ezüstéremmel záró együttesünk egyből az Euroliga főtáblájára került, vagyis nem kell selejtezőt vívnia, alanyi jogon ott lesz a csoportkörben.
„A megszokottnál nagyobb vérfrissítésre került sor a keretben, ami részben a mi elhatározásunk, részben a távozók döntésének az eredménye – számolt be a változásokról Szabó Gergő ügyvezetőnk. – Még a tavalyinál is később raktuk össze a csapatot, zömében rajtunk kívülálló okok miatt, hiszen az előző szezon végeztével azonnal belekezdtünk a munkába Szabó Noémi sportigazgatóval. Az Euroligában eredetileg selejtezővel számoltunk, de ugye az orosz klubok hiányzása miatt egyből a csoportkörbe kerültünk, ami örvendetes. Noémivel a háttérben sokat kellett dolgozni, hogy legalább az előző év szintjén maradjunk. A távozó három külföldi játékosnak más elképzelése volt a jövőjével kapcsolatban, valamint Gereben Lívia is jelezte, máshol kívánja folytatni karrierjét. Ami az újakat illeti, Sydney Wallace az Euroliga előző idényében 16 pontot dobott átlagban, ami önmagáért beszél… Victoria Vivianstól sokat várunk, nagy WNBA-tapasztalattal rendelkezik, míg a harcos erényeket csillogtató, fáradhatatlan, remek blokkoló Ruthy Hebarttól a palánkok alatt számítunk markáns játékra. Korábban már bejelentettük Boros Júlia érkezését, ő jelenleg zajló U20-as Európa-bajnokságon képviseli klubunkat. Szücs Gréta többször a keretben volt tavaly is, a következő szezonban talán még nagyobb szerepet kap.”
Elnökünk elárulta, változás történt a szakmai stábban is, erőnléti edzőnk, Isidora Vasziljevics tanulmányai befejezése miatt hazatért Szerbiába, neki is minden jót kívánunk ehhez a feladathoz, a helyére honfitársa, Alen Ninkov érkezett. Talán sokakban felvetődött a kérdés, mi a helyzet a bajnoki elődöntőben súlyosan megsérülő Krnjics Szara-val, nos, a center teljes felépülését követően klubunk „Sárival” közösen dönt arról, mi lesz a folytatás.
Csapatunk augusztus 15-én kezdi meg a felkészülést a szezonra, s ahogyan minden évben, az előtte lévő napokban a játékosok alapos orvosi vizsgálatokon esnek majd át.

Roaring to go with an updated squad
Our club had finally got to the point when we can dampen the hunger for knowledge of our supporters and stop the rumours about what is the team will look like for the next season, so here is the roster for 2022–2023!
Our board eventually had came to the decision on who would make up our team, which players will feature Atomeromu KSC Szekszard in the next season. Earlier we already reported that our team, which won a silver medal in the Hungarian League and a bronze medal in the Hungarian Cup, had made it to the group phase in the Euroleague, which means we do not have play qualification games like last year.
„Maybe it has came a bit later than some expected and unusual for many, but we quite updated our roster – told us Gergo Szabo, our president. – This is partly our decision, partly the players’s whom had decided to leave. As soon the previous season ended, with sports director Noemi Szabo we started to work on this year’s squad, but faced quite a few burdens and could not finalise the roster for reasons beyond our control. Obviously we calculated with Euroleague qualifiers but fortunately we jumped straight into the group phase. We had to do a lot of background work to put together a squad that is hopefully capable of keeping up the level of the team of last season. Our three foreigners whom left had other plans for the future so did Livia Gereben, who also let us know that she wanted to leave. As for the new arrivals, Sydney Wallace had averaged 16 points per game in the Euroleague which statistics speaks for itself… We expect a lot from Victoria Vivians, she has huge experience in the WNBA, while Ruthy Hebart has a never-give-up mentality and a defensive strength around the rim. We already talked about the signing of Julia Boros, who currently plays for the U20 National Team representing our club. Greta Szucs is a young prospect who made it to the roster a couple of times last season and probably feature more in the upcoming year.”
Our president also said that there is a change in our staff as well because our fitness trainer Isidora Vasiljevic returned to Serbia to finish her studies (good luck with that!) so her patriot Alen Ninkov will work with the players for the next season. Maybe a lot of our fans were wondering what is the situation with Krnjic Sara, whom got injured in the semifinal and had been operated. We will sit down with the Serbian-Hungarian center after she fully recovered and decide on whether she would re-join us during the season.
The team starts the preparation for the next season on 15th of August with the usual medical.
