A Sepsiszentgyörgy rendezheti meg az Euroliga csoportkörbe-kerülésért kiírt minitornát.
A romániai Sepsiszentgyörgy nyerte el az Euroliga selejtezőjének a rendezési jogát – tájékoztatta az Atomerőmű KSC Szekszárdot az Európai Szövetség (FIBA). A csoportkörbe kerülésért egy minitorna keretében csapatunk a házigazdával és a török Kayserivel mérkőzik meg szeptember 21-23. között. Klubunk is pályázott a rendezésre, de az erdélyi egyesület lett a befutó.
„Gratulálunk a Sepsinek, hogy rendező lesz, ez azért számunkra sem annyira rossz, Kayseri messzebb van és Erdélybe a szurkolóink is eljöhetnek biztatni minket. Attól függetlenül, hogy nem mi rendezünk, a célunk ugyanaz, a csoportkörbe kerülés. Sok múlhat a sorsoláson is, mert szerintem nem mindegy, hogy melyik napokon játszunk” – mondta Szabó Gergő ügyvezető.
A jelenleg Sepsiszentgyörgyön érvényben lévő szabályok szerint azok a nézők, akik rendelkeznek oltási igazolvánnyal vagy 72 óránál frissebb negatív PCR-teszttel, megtekinthetik a mérkőzéseket, sőt, tudomásunk szerint a helyszínen is végeznek majd gyorstesztet, így aki helyben negatív eredményt produkál, szintén részt vehet a találkozókon.
A minitorna szeptember 21-től 23-ig tart, körmérkőzéses rendszerben dől el a továbbjutás (csak az első helyezett kerül be az Euroliga csoportkörébe). Várhatóan a korábbiakhoz hasonlóan ezúttal is buborékban kerülhet sor a rendezvényre a csapatok, stábok és személyzet számára. A sorsolást augusztus 19-én tartják.

Sepsiszentgyorgy will be the host of this season’s Euroleague qualifying tournament.
Romanian club Sepsiszentgyorgy can host the qualifying tournament that decides which team will compete in the 2021–2022 Euroleauge group-phase – Atomeromu KSC Szekszard learned from FIBA. Our team, which finished second behind Sopron Basket in the previous season to earn a place in the qualification, will play againts the host and Turkish outfit Kayseri between 21-23rd of September. Our club also applied for the three-team mini-tournament.
„Congratulations to Sepsi for winning the tender, this is not a bad decision for us, bacause Sepsiszentgyorgy is located closer to Hungary than Kayseri, so our fans can come to support us. Our goal remains the same, get into the group-phase. The draw would be huge, a factor, because it really does matter on what day we should play” – executive Gergo Szabo said after getting the news from FIBA.
According to the actual health regulations in Sepsiszentgyorgy, fans who have vaccination card or valid PCR-tests can attend the games, and as far as we know, official stewards would be ready to make rapid tests in front of the gym for those who has no varifications on COVID-19. .
The mini-tournament will be held between 21-23rd of September. All teams play each other once and only the winner of the group will qualify. The event for the teams and representatives presumably must be held in a hub with strict Covid-19 regulations. The draw will be made in 19th of August by FIBA.
